Wake up, brain!

So the time has finally arrived...

Time for what?

Time for that long-awaited CELTA course to begin! (Sorry for lack of updates about how the whole application process went, but I had ranted about it to anyone within earshot so many times that it seemed redundant to post it all up on here again. XD) Anyhoo rants aside, I finally made it past the interview stage and will officially be a student again from... tomorrow!

*gasp* o__O

So about this course... It's an intensive one, which means training from 9am-5pm, 5 days a week. On the down side, that means that I have to get up around 6.30am every day so I can get my fat ass into the city on time. This might not be a big deal for some of you, but you must remember that I am a lazy heffer who usually sleeps about 14 hours a day.

Apparently we also have about 3-4 hours of work to do at home every night, plus weekend tasks of course. Those joyful things will supposedly take the better part of 1 to 1.5 days to finish. Yay for becoming busy. Extremely busy. T__T In fact they've already given us a taste of what's to come by setting a pre-course assignment that took up 8 double-sided pages of handwriting.. and telling us that we will be teaching practical, observed classes on the first day. Hurrah for diving right into the deep end!

On the bright side, I guess all this challenging stuff will be a good way to pull myself out of the awful rut I've fallen into -- sleeping about 12 hours a night, and still having multiple naps during the day. It will be interesting to meet new people too, and learn new things.

I must admit, I am a little worried and nervous though. And though it will probably (hopefully) be an interesting and beneficial course, I'm half anticipating that I'll end up hating the whole thing purely because of the gruelling work load and probable sleep deprivation. To help with that though I've devised a kind of countdown calendar, so I can look forward to drawing a big, fat, black 'X' through each day that passes. This calendar comes complete with "motivational" slogans to keep me focused. Haha.

So... Wish me luck, sons.. And here's to hoping I won't flunk on day 1. XD
