Of course, it would be just my luck that I'd fall sick during my vacation. Boooo. My throat was feeling funny last Thursday, by Friday it had worsened, and by Saturday it had escalated into a full-blown cold... stuffed nose, phlegmy cough, and all.
Joy.
I guess it probably doesn't help that I've been standing on windy street corners, devouring 32cm ice creams with one of the new teachers, who also happens to be sick.
32cm ice creams, you say?! (Yes, that's probably the only part of the above sentence that would catch your attention.. It certainly would capture mine! XD) Everybody knows there's only one place that does 32cm ice creams in all their glory, and that place is.... Myeongdong!
On Saturday I took the new teacher to Myeongdong, for a shopping trip/tour of the downtown area, since she's completely new to Korea. What fun it was! I guess I've been here for so long that I've forgotten all the joys of bustling Myeongdong, with its unique streetfood and more cheap fashion stores than you can poke a stick at. Playing a tour guide opened my eyes again as to how much, deeeeeeep down, I really, truly love the place. XD (Oh Myeongdong, I could never hate on you! :3)
On a random ending note, I only have 16 more days left in this country so hopefully I'll have more "eye openers", so to speak, that will rekindle my love for this place before I leave.
Hopefully.
